Vancouver Part 2

For the second part of our vacation, we went to Vancouver, BC to visit with M's Grandma and Auntie Heather. It was the first time I had been to Vancouver and Cam hadn't been since he was a teenager. It is a really nice city with lots of great things to do outdoors. We only had a few days to explore so went on a trolley tour around the city to get an overview. We also went to Granville Market for lunch and some browsing. On our last day in Vancouver, we went up to Grouse Mountain to look around and grab some lunch.

Here are some of my favorite pics from Vancouver...

Vancouver Part 1

Wow, I am behind on blogging...

We went to Vancouver for a week and it's taken us 3 weeks to get back on schedule and for me to get my energy back. Even Cam, who usually isn't phased by travel, had a tough time getting back on track.

Anyway, we had a great vacation in Vancouver and a lovely visit with Cameron's family. Travelling there wasn't too bad. It's a long day of flying but M was a trooper and slept most of the flight there. One of the passengers behind us actually said, "I didn't know there was a baby up here." And several other passengers congratulated us on a successful flight.

We started in Sidney, BC which is on Vancouver Island with a fun family reunion. It is always nice to visit with Cam's Granny, aunts, uncles and cousins. We don't get to see them very often since we are scattered all over the continent. Here are some of my favorite pics from our visit to Sidney.

Here is a view from the porch of our suite. And a nice little rainbow peaking through.

Cousins Launey & Heather try to determine who is taller... too close to call.

An intense game of The Farming Game... don't ask.

Visit to Mommom & Poppop's

Cameron went to Poland for a conference so Madeleine and I flew to MD to stay with Mommom & Poppop for 2 weeks. I was pretty nervous about flying alone with the baby but she was great. A lot of people offered to help me with the stroller and our bags so that was really helpful.

While we were visiting, we went shopping, did some baking, and prepared for the baby shower we were hosting for my friend Laura on Sunday. We (mostly mom) baked sugar cookies, cakes and cupcakes. They were all delicious. Mommom really should open a bakery!

We also got together with several friends and family members. It was so much fun introducing M to everyone. I think she was a big hit. :) We can't wait to go back in September!

The 2 weeks just flew by and we had a wonderful time. Thanks Mom and Scott for everything. You are the best. Madeleine is so lucky to have you as her grandparents! We miss you already.

Madeleine turned 5 months while we were there so we took some great photos in my parent's beautiful front yard (nice job Scotty-Boo!).

She is starting to sit up by herself now but just isn't strong enough to catch herself from falling backwards. Mommom was next to her just in case. :)

Look at those blue eyes!

Some more "firsts"

This week we have had a few more "firsts."

We brought out the jumperoo that Mommom and Poppop bought Madeleine for Easter. She is still too light and small for it but if we put a towel underneath her, she is able to reach all the toys.

Look how much she still needs to grow to touch to floor!

Such a cutie pie!

We also took out the infant net inside the tub so she sits more upright and is more submerged in water. She wasn't sure of it at first but now she seems to like it.

And lastly, we fed M her first real food... sweet potatoes! I was hoping for some crazy, funny faces but she really seemed to like them. Hopefully, she has no problem digesting them and they make her sleep longer! :)
